Welcome to Kirkheaton.info

This site was originally designed to hold archive material relating to Parishes surrounding Kirkheaton in West Yorkshire but has now been expanded to include those surrounding Whixley in North Yorkshire. For  more backgound information and an explanation as to why this site is often a much better resource than just using  online burial registers, take a look at the 'About'menu on the left.

As of 26/9/2024, a new basic search facility for each location has been added to the menu sructure which allows all users to search each Excel database without the need to register; please note that you will intitially see a sample of the records but typing in the name to search for will then display the requested entries. However, registration will still be required in order to access much of the detailed information in each section i.e. the burial ground maps, memorial inscriptions and photographs of the memorials.

To download the spreadsheets available on the site, click on Register in the menu on the left and then login - there is no charge for this service.

There are fourteen full churchyard surveys on this site, all based on Excel Spreadsheets which can be downloaded to your computer to give comprehensive data about the burials.  Each one has the following facilities:-

MAP OF CHURCHYARD

Each Spreadsheet cell contains the individual's Surname and hovering the mouse cursor over this reveals any Memorial Inscription as shown above.
