This page gives an overview of the material available to registered users who can download the files from this site. After you have logged on as a registered user, there will be another menu off this one named 'Green Hammerton Downloads' and selecting this allows the download of the Green Hammerton database spreadsheet plus photograph files.

This project was the ninth in the series, completed in October 2016. It is a new survey designed to locate all known MIs (Memorial Inscriptions), photograph and transcribe their contents plus map all known burials onto a spreadsheet plan.

Green Hammerton is a small village mid way between York and Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

Although the original Sexton's map of the burial ground has not been found, fortunately a map was constructed by Ronald Stevenson in 1993 which has enabled the locations of burials shown in black which have no existing memorial (in 2016) to be included on the plan.

When St Thomas' Chapel of Ease was opened in 1876, the burial register of Whixley was used until 1918 when a specific Green Hammerton register was employed.  The burials between these dates are shown in the spreadsheet with dates in blue and these entries may also be found in the Whixley register on this site.
